With the holidays approaching and the new store closer to open, I thought I would give you all a heads up on timing things for guarantee Christmas delivery. The deadlines my vendors have sent me are as follows:

Vintage Frames, Albums and Specialty Product orders: Nov 10th
Christmas Cards, Standard Framing and Prints: Dec 1st
All orders to be ready for pick up Dec 15th
Next order date will be Jan 4th 2010
No exceptions

Very limited sessions for the remainder of the year. Please book these now to ensure you get a spot. Session fee due at time of booking. Studio will be closed from Dec 18th-Dec 27th.

As Silverline has been growing, I have decided to open a new venture and share space with a new retail store we are opening along side Silverline selling home decor, frames (of course!!) and gifts. The new studio and store are located at 380 Main Street Cardston Alberta. I will be getting a new Silverline blog here shortly and with that a behind the door blog too. I'll keep you posted!

Family Sessions for the fall are already nearly full and I am opening a few slots for weddings. I have very little room left through until January 2010 for family shoots. Fall through Christmas months are the busiest with family sessions getting ready for gifts, cards and the holidays. If you are planning a session, booking now is a must. I am taking VERY limited grad sessions over the summer for '09 or '10 graduates. This is a taste of what a grad session is like. The sessions are $99 and include the negatives for 5 images of your choice. Each negative after that is $5 a piece. For the rest of the 2010 class, doing your pictures the summer/fall before you graduate is highly recommended. Get them while your stress free and tan before your busy last year starts.

Meet Paris. Here she is, in the spring. Cool thing is, is that Paris is my cousin. Okay so this is Allyson and she really is my first cousin, and has the cutEST family. Becca and I stayed with Paris 'ahem' Allyson when we went to Utah and we had soo much fun.

Simple vs Artistic

On the new portrait site I have two options for sessions. The simple session or the artistic session. Just to give you an idea of the differences here, I thought I would give you a small taste of a few of the many finishes that your pictures can have. All of these are custom to Silverline. The homestead action I did purchase, but then combined it with another action and then tweaked it after that.

When you book a simple session all of your images are presented to you in full color.
When you book an artistic session, your images will be presented in any of the bazillion finishes I think they look good in. If you don't like a finish we change it. Simple.

Next time I will show you a few art pieces. You will get one to three of these with the artistic package. They are very very custom finishes (textures, overlays, custom brush appliques etc. )applied after the color finish to give it texture and depth. Once images have those and are printed on canvas in a decent size, well, now you have a piece of art my dear.

The new portrait site is officially up and live. Whew. All the info is there regarding new pricing and some very new packages for 2009. There is also a whole section on Fine Art Products, something I have always carried but, without a consultation, you would just never know about some of these fun and fresh things. You will all be so pleased to know that this years packages offer a gifted negative release of printable files. This is huge. Check out the website for all the details.

Another fun thing to know is that I will be in Salt Lake City for 10 days for the first two weeks of April. I will be doing on location shoots during that time for a killer special you wont want to miss. If you live in the area or will be in the area please email me to set up a time. I have done this in the past and it works beautifully. Here is how travel photography from Silverline works:

1.Choose a location. I can give you lots of ideas or choose it myself but, if I have not been to the area before then I require you to find the location of the shoots. This can be downtown, out in the country or at a park - wherever.

2. Book at least 4 sessions on one day, depending on where you live this may be less or more than 4. These sessions can be friends, family, whoever is interested in getting pics done.

3. Split travel fees - if I am travelling to the area (such as my April SLC trip) for another reason, you will NOT be charged these fees.

4. You get your session FREE. Zero. Nada. Complimentary for all those other bookings you spent hard work setting up. Sweet!

5. Session fees are due at the time of session, cash only.

6. Enjoy wonderfully fun original pictures of you and yours forever and ever. And ever.

Announcements are so fun - they can be printed on photo paper as a one sided photograph - very economical - or can be press printed on linen paper and be two sided or folded, in a variety of sizes. Every fall the Christmas cards are press printed and are hot! It's so fun to be able to do them up as baby announcements, wedding invites, shower announcements, grad announcements, thank-yous, you name it! F-U-N. I have Tons of samples I have done over the years if your curious. A definite way to stand out!

So I am back, finally, and yes it is March. Talk about fast! So many things going on and lots to post... soon... I think I said that last month too...hehe. I have lots of updates and things to post on upcoming sessions and yes, dum da dum, negative releases. With a huge amount of buyouts in Feb for our special I have decided to re-vamp things a bit with the launch of my portrait site..and you'll see some wedding changes too!

I will be in Salt Lake in April for up to two weeks and am currently booking my time full there. More on that to come in a few days. Also, I am also in the middle of putting the final touches to the 2009 grad/senior packages. I think however, these will be launched in April. If you are interested in being a 'high profile '09 model' ...hehe... for the grad sessions, let me know right away.

I have a select few days in March and April I opened for sessions, and May is already filling up.

When wedding season hits (does it really ever end?) weekends for Family sessions are very difficult to fill. Please book in plenty of time if you know weekends are the only time that works. I will be doing very limited portraits and families on Saturdays from May 1st through to the end of August.

Alisha planned this wedding in 7 days. Yes one week. The funny thing was, was that when she told me who the groom was I couldn't believe it! I used to be best friends with his older sister in elementary school and when they moved back to Samoa we lost track. Sini used to come over and jump on my trampoline everday after school and we had to drag him with us places ...like trick or treating. Now he is all grown up and looking goooood. Snowy Day

If you have not gone outside today, don't! I was trying to get home last night from Vulcan but had to stop in Lethbridge because visibility was terrible, the roads were icy and it was dark. So me and the sisters went to see Brad Pitt's new movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It is about a man who is born old and gets younger through time, a very interesting story. I enjoyed it, it was a slower film and being in the theater was fun, seeing that I haven't gone to a show since who knows when. Actually I do remember now that I think about it and it has been way too long. If your an at home movie watcher, and although it was PG-13 I recommend the edited version.

After our little sleepover I ran my errands and headed home this afternoon on the yuckiest roads ever. I had a little black ice issue and ended up in the ditch, but some wonderful people pulled me out. Thanks so much!! I also had around a dozen people stop and ask if I needed help, something I really appreciated and love about this area - everyone is so willing to help. So I am a little worn and am just going to post this ring picture from Laura and Brett's wedding and get back at 'er tomorrow. Peace out and stay off the roads!

What a gorgeous fun wonderful couple. I had so much fun with these guys and they were amazing to work with especially during one of the coldest days of 2008. Thanks to some trusty hand and foot warmers from In Case Of we were able to stay out long enough for some fun times. They wanted to go to Waterton National Park for some pictures, -lucky me we are only a mere 40 minutes away- and they came out stunning. The steam coming off of the lake looked amazing. I wish we would have had a tad more daylight but I cant complain. We headed back to Cardston for the studio and ended up shooting some cool night pictures at the Temple as well. This will soon be up as a feature wedding. Thanks Guys!!

Back From The Dead

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, anything else I missed? This has been one craaazy month let me tell you! My last post nearly a month ago was right before the flu bug hit. Anyone who got sick over the holidays raise your hand! It was brutal indeed. Recovery was just in time for Christmas thank goodness and it was nice to spend time with family and relax a little.

After Christmas I packed all of my stuff up at the studio and moved it home. We are expanding and due to the sale of the building where my studio was located and thus with circumstances changing, we felt it was the perfect time to move it home. We are renovating the garage to give me about double the space than I currently have had and will have some great new things there. All in all I am quite excited about the move, although it will be a lot of work. We are starting from scratch with pouring cement and will be doing all the work ourselves. I am so lucky to have a hubby that is virtually indispensable when it comes to "skills". (A little napoleon dynamite for ya there.) He is handy to say the least. He and my brother just finished building mom and dad a gorgeous home, he just swapped out the transmission in my van and sews better than I do. Let's get back on track before I start sweating he he. Anyway we are going to be busy with the new studio, but it will be wonderful and I am stoked.

I have also just launched one of the two new websites, I am planning on the portrait site to be up by the end of the week. So if your pictures are not live from the wedding site, send me an email so I can get that ready for you to view. Portraits won't be viewable until next week, sorry. Both new sites feature shopping carts for you to now place online orders! Whoo hoo! This is going to be nice for everyone I am sure, however, in home consultations are available and very recommended.

New pricing is now effective regardless of when your shoot was. I am also offering a negative buyout from any shoot, something I have never done in the past so if that interests you please inquire.

I am booking into March, with only a few slots left. Please don't wait until March to book for March, booking ahead is the only way to save your spot. I am also requiring full payment at the time of booking for portrait sessions and deposits are still required for all weddings.

All in all I am very excited about the changes for 2009. After triplying business in 2008, I have had the chance to see exactly what works and what does not. I am so grateful for patient clients and wonderful friends who support me through my craziness and I am so glad to be moving forward. New policies, schedules, employee's and studio will prove to be a great blessing to Silverline I am sure. After going through last years booking schedule I am drastically changing how many clients I am taking at a time so that turnaround is better. I am only going to be shooting two days a week and taking very limited sessions to ensure the utmost in attention and quality. Therefore, booking ahead is essential.

Don't forget about the referral program. Referrals cash in for free prints or sessions and you can pick up referral cards from me for this. This program has proved to be very successful over the years something I am clients have really enjoyed.

And Last but not least, it is my Dads Birthday today! Happy Birthday Dad! Anyone who knows him knows what I am talking about when I say he is one of the greatest men. I look up to him and his strength and example and him and my mom have been wonderful parents to all 9 of us. We love you Dad, have a great day!!

12 Days till Christmas

I am wrapping up all the last touches for Christmas and it feels so good to be ready for once! We are in for a super cold weekend and I hope you all have plenty of hot chocolate and good books. And movies for the kids so you can read your good books. :)

We had a great Farmers Market yesterday and Angie Roe won the draw for a free session. I only have a few slots left for Feb and am mostly booking into March. If you are thinking about spring sessions, now is the time to book. I am also already booking Grade 12 students ( seniors or grads ) for their sessions. These fill up fast and I am can only do a limited amount once grad is here. Spring break is a great time to do those sessions so Moms, gift certificates for stockings for those are a great idea.

I also have a two new antique temple pictures that will be done on Canvas only and I am putting in my last order for these for Christmas today. If you are interested in these for gifts, call me and I can give you the link to see them. Christmas pricing ends today.

WEDLUXE magazine came out this week and Kristy looks beautiful! They did a great job on the ad! Go grab a copy, this is such a fun magazine, very well done and the nice part about it, is that it is all for western Canada. If your getting married this year, you'll love the ideas they have.

The Christmas Farmers Market will be held in Cardston on December the 12th from 11am to 6pm at the civic center. There are lots of great booths too see and yummy Christmas baking to buy. But this year you wont want to miss our booth and all the new things to see. A newborn baby book, wall collections, gallery wrap canvas's, storyboards, new albums, new prints and new framing.

The biggest thing about the market for us is our December Promotion. As pricing as just changed this promo will mean even more. Each December we do double dollar gift certificates meaning you spend $150 and you get $300 worth of sessions. Nice. I wish I could do that for groceries, clothes and vehicles. Maybe Dodge will catch on. So here is the big deal. The new pricing for sessions goes as follows:

$150 for families for up to 4 people only. Each additional person is $25 each. There is no print credit or package with this. As I take time to photograph each person individually in every shoot on top of the groupings it is absolutely killing me for editing and post processing time. There are way to many pictures to go through. That is the reason for the extra charge.

So When you buy a gift certificate at the market under the double dollar promo and you have 4 people, you would normally have to pay $150 for the session only. However, with the certificate, you can get an entire extra session all for the same $150. Nice! Huge! And what great Christmas gifts!!! However, these are only good for sessions and only good for 3 months, and the minimum double dollar gift certificate is $150, no exceptions. You can buy smaller gift certificates, under regular terms, as in $50 gets you a $50 gift card.

Okay now that that is off my chest and you all know the reason why it is silverline photography and not heather something very wrongly pronouced photography we can move on. Here is my fam. This has been a long time coming. For some reason, family pictures tend to be one of the more painful experiences for us. I seem to have a vision of what I want in my head like I do with most shoots but cannot ever nail it with us. For starters I hate hate my picture taken. Like the rest of you girls I am way to critical of myself and since the losing of about 15 lbs too many I really dont like looking at them. But here they are and this is us. I have come to the conclusion that for the family shots I am going to hire another photographer to do it. Becca did these for us and did a fantastic job. The only problem is that Becca is basically another mother to these wonderful children and they just dont listen to her either. If anyone is up for trades, me do yours you do mine I am all over it. Just let me know!!! Please!!!

Time and Brittany: My brother and his little family just live a block away and my kids adore his. Aaron loves to stop by on his way home from school to play with the girls. It is one of the funnest sounds when Hallie walks through the door and everyone runs shouting her name. The little girls love love love to play princess and Hallie was Ariel for Halloween, which was pretty funny. Ava is such a sweetie and said cheese and posed the entire time. I couldn't believe someone so little already knew how to work it for me. Sooo cute. We love you guys!

Then there is Mom and Dad and the "singles". They are all going to kill me for posting that too. Scott still lives at home and we call him the grandchild as he is the last of 9 kids and gets treated more like a grandchild than a child. But because we all feel bad for the depletion of genes he probly carries we love him anyway. Hehe. Lindsay, Hilary and Becca all live together in Lethbridge. I love my sisters so much. My family for me is my number one strength; My immediate and my husband and kids. Without any of them I couldn't do photography, or really anything else for that matter.

Clark and Deb Williams; this was one of if not the best shoot ever. The lighting was great, the shoot went smoothly and quickly, no wind, fun spots and they were open to anything. They were so Easy with a capital E to work with, and I could not have ended a busy day better than with this fam. I am stoked to see some of these in print, on Canvas. Love them!

The Helland Fam: I think I found some great friends. Lori and Jarrett are wonderful and the kids are right there with them. I love these guys so much. When I went to Vulcan, it was Lori who booked me and found other families to fill the day and I was so grateful for all her time organizing it. Another family thought we had known each other for a long time and was surprised when he learned we had just met. It was funny. Lori also got introduced into a whole new world of 'barning', something for another post after we do some more of it. Hehe. I had a lot of fun with these guys and cant wait to see them later this week.

Two very patient clients. This family can I just tell you has been waiting since, um, July. Luckily, they are now finished! When I was talking about being behind, I meant behind. I have been going gangbusters though this week and should be all caught up for next week. Hurray!

Krista's little Benson was awake the enitre time and although there are lots of cute ones, I had to post a quick one from when he blinked - too funny. But it worked! He looks so cozy and sleepy. My favorite.

I know I have been promising a new set of websites and yes they are coming. I am featuring so many new shoots on them that I figured I'd better get those up and delivered first. With the new websites many things will be changing and so here is your heads up.

*New pricing will be in effect as of November 15th.
*Christmas Card orders need to be into me by November 15th so that I can have them done and delivered by December 1st. If you are still waiting on your pictures, they will be posted within the next 7 days.
*Orders for Christmas gifts need to be in by December 10th for regular pricing. Any last minute orders for Christmas will be charged an addition $50 rush fee. I will not be delivering prints on Christmas eve as in the past. All orders need to be in early so that you and I both have time to enjoy the season.
*Framing orders need to be in by December 1st for Christmas delivery. This includes collections.

I only have 4 slots left that I could SQUEEZE people in for the rest of the year. These are December bookings. I highly suggest that if your considering pictures in the new year to book early. I will have my booth again this year at the Christmas Farmers Market and I book up significantly ( 2 months ahead ) this one day alone. I am now booking several months in advance.

Thank you all so much for your patience and support. This year I have tripled my business and it has been so wonderful to meet and work with so many great people. However, with that comes many challenges and I will not be able to be as accommodating with last minute things as I have been in the past. So I went to Vulcan this last week for several family shoots and despite the hurricane we ended up with a few cute ones. However, my camera decided to throw and temper tantrum for the umpteenth time and it took all I had to not throw it over a bridge. This is a brand new camera a couple of months old and has already been in for warranty repairs. Just my luck to have my backup camera still in repairs. Ridiculous. So with 2 new cameras, I am going back on Monday for the rest of the shoots and with hopefully no wind. Cross your fingers Lori! Great families!

This is so overdue Sarah, cute family, you guys were fantastic. More to come I promise! I hope this fills some of your night time - Sarah is at that hard time where after 6 months, being up at night with a little one just isnt so do-able anymore. I can feel her pain believe me!! So anyone dying to babysit from say 10pm-7am, well, Sarah can help you out.

Jeremy came and cleaned our carpets for us and let me tell you, I have no idea how he got some of that out! I have ripped out 90% of the carpet in my home, partly from allergies, mostly because my children seem to think that things like dishsoap and milk are ok on carpets. Especially entire containers of such wonderful products. After one to many of such fiasco's, Layne came home from work one day to find all of our carpet rolled up and on the driveway. This was 3 years ago might I add, when Aaron was 3 and Emma was 2 and the toddler phase was taking over my life. Well, the bedrooms are all that are left with carpet, and were luckily dishsoap and milk free but needed a clean nonetheless. If your looking for such a man, give Jeremy Prete a call. He does a great job and we were so happy with his work.

Well, not only has this girl managed to win a few seats on my almost ready to launch site, but the editor from WedLuxe suggested I 'reconsider' my ad with Kristi on it. I of course took her advice and the ad came out gorgeous. I didnt post the ad, but it is of Kristi in the field. I haven't mentioned anything about WedLuxe yet but it's printing and will hit the stands in November. It is a wedding magazine, a Canadian publication, very high end, very luxe, very Exciting! I have a full page ad in this magazine and Kristi will take up the whole thing. It serves BC and Alberta and is sure to make some noise. It is by invitation only so I am pretty excited. whoo-hoo!

It is with great sadness and loss that we mourn the passing of Cam. Cam touched many lives and will be remembered for his many kindnesses and loving spirit. When Layne and I moved to Cardston in 2005, we moved in next door to the Williams family; Coralee and I both expecting babies. As our children have grown and we have shared yards and kids, I have grown to love and appreciate this family so very much. They were my first 'family shoot' and have been a great support to me in that regard from the start. They were the first ones I called to come and try out my new studio lights, and one of the first in the new studio downtown after the renos. We were able to do one last shoot with Cam in August in the last of his good days. What a blessing. The pictures are there for the taking, although Coralee will have all the negatives for her printing needs. What a treasure it is for the knowledge of Eternal Families and that one day they will all be together again.

I am desperately trying to get caught up while playing mother, wife and the like. A friend suggested I admit myself to the psychiatric ward to get back to normal. I didn't think it was such a bad idea, as long as I had my laptop to get some things done, and then I'd get lots of spoon fed Jello. With my current client load alone I am swamped but I am also, as you can see, trying to freshen things up around here. I have mentioned several times about a new website, which has now turned into two, and they are close. I am printing off new everything, and the new look is sure to please. I also have some fun ideas spinning or scheming as some may say, that you wont want to miss. Stay tuned, I may just start throwing some crazy stuff at you. Did anyone say, a free canvas gallery wrap? Everybody is wondering how my little 25 minute photo shoot turned out with my kids. Well, I promised Rayla and Jason i wouldn't swear or anything along those lines, so there went that avenue. Too wicked. Wanting a smile at least, things were a little too tough and serious here. So I had to lighten things up a bit.

Glitter Gel / Jelly Jane

So my dear friend Sara Eaton is a creative freak. She loves the same little quirky details about things that I do and I love this in her. Like packaging. Are you guilty as well for buying something because it looks so stinking cute in the package?! We both love creating, and people who create - stuff - anything. Even though I really am trailer burnt out, when my husband was manufacturing those beasts, well, the truth is, I was amazed. To start with a bunch of rusty dirty looking metal, do a little welding and whola! A beautiful trailer. Okay, so it's not a little welding, but you get the idea. To start with something and end with cool stuff is, well, cool. And, let me tell you, there is a little secret about creations.

For those of us junkies who love this 'stuff' there is a website that is surely one to hook you for good. Etsy. There are so many neat things on there, I Love it! I am still trying to figure out how to be a cool etsy seller but havn't had the time to really focus on that. But someday...

Well, Sara was feeling this pain, the left out of the creating Etsy pain and so she sunk her ship deep by creating adorable glitter gels that everyone wants now. This poor mamma has no idea what she has gotten herself into! These glitter gels are Aloe Vera based and have the funnest colors and scents. My little Emma is sure to have every kind between her birthday and Christmas. The boys in our house won't know what hit them. I tried a little on my clean shaven legs today at our shoot for her jars and let me tell you, no residue, just glitter. Layne will be impressed I am sure of it.

I have been offering a referral program since the beginning of time, it's nothing new that is for sure. However, I think my clients are starting to see the dividends now that they caught the vision. Here is how it works:

For every referral I receive from you that results in a booking, you will receive a little coupon with one of two options on it. 1. This card is good for one free 8x10 print OR 2. Bring in ten coupons for a free photo session of choice (excluding weddings).

As I have been posting sessions and the ordering process can be hard, it is so nice when they remember that they get an additional one or two 8x10 prints. It seems to just fill in the gaps with wall collections and gift prints. Christmas Card Special

I haven't posted my September special yet as the new website will hopefully be live this weekend, and for who knows why I was waiting for that. However, its not a secret and the Christmas Card special is back, from Sept 15th- October 16th. One family session and 25 double sided fine art cards with envelopes for $150.

I only have a few slots left and I can't cram in a whole lot more. PLEASE book as early as you possibly can, I promised myself this year I would not do cards into November - things get way to crazy at Christmas and I just don't have the time this year. I am already almost full, so if its in the plans, you have till the 16th of October.

Layouts for the cards are done, adorable, and a must have. Today I sent off for the first set. This means I have to get my family pics done. Why is that so hard... as you can see from the last post, my kids can't wait. They just love getting their pictures taken...yeah right.

While waiting for some prints to upload I thought I would check in. Things have been crazy around here but lots has been getting done. The holiday weekend was busy and then after pushing way too hard I got sick and stayed in bed and sucked it for all it was worth. I'm thinking it worked as I am feeling much better. Too many late hours and early mornings and long long days.

School just started and Aaron, our oldest, is in grade one. I can't believe he is that old! Emma starts preschool next week, a long thought over decision, but I am excited for her. She will be 5 this fall and could be in kindergarten and is more than capable of the work. However, with such a late birthday in the year, I think holding her back will give her that much more of an advantage later on. Hyrum is now 2 and will get to spend some one on one time with mom this fall. I didnt have time to all but grab the camera, shoot and run hence the great composition and details here. Sheesh - but you get the point. I'll post some fun ones after their shoot.

Today we bottled peaches and pears and still have 7 cases to go. Yes, 7. Of peaches that is. 8 more boxes of pears come in next week. Probably right around the time I'll need to do the tomatoes and everything else. There are 9 of us Anderson kids and although mom and I do the canning, we cant help but pass a few jars around. After all, could we really eat that many peaches and pears by next spring? Um, never mind, don't answer that. I'll have to post a picture of the final result. I love the way they look in the jars on the shelf.

Heritage Week

I hope every one's weekend was full of family, fun and sunshine. If you are from Alberta, we are celebrating Heritage week this week, and lots of events and activities fill up the days. Family reunions are everywhere and the week is ended by a parade and fireworks. This week we get to have a POW WOW in Cardston from our native neighbors that is amazing. If you haven't been, go! The competitions are fun to watch and the culture is rich. There is much to do and learn. A very important part of their and our heritage.

what 70's year are you?

I have been playing with some new finishes and with all the grad pics, it has been fun to try them out. Its amazing how a finish can change the mood and total look of your image. The options are endless. Thats why we get to call it art... The big things right now in photography, decor and design is a vintage crossed with 70's look all in a modern package. When I showed a few to mother on the earlier post, she couldn't figure out why they were faded. She is worried that everyone is going to think that I forgot how to expose a picture the right way. Dont worry mom, it's "cool". I think...

So just for the record and to lighten things up a bit, I want to hear what you think. Are you "into" this look, or do you go for the the supersaturated bright urban look, or are you traditional and die hard for the black and white (i broke the mold with my own version i call espresso, not so grey and blue if you notice ) and color??

After I named the first one 70's it only made sense to go by year. Hey, it made wine great why not this!

I have been putting in orders today and more tomorrow and well, probly for the rest of the week. Some of them are for a wedding I'll be shooting in 3 weeks. I still love how cute these look Amy and Breanne so I thought I'd share a few more.

Fresh Face of Summer

Silverline and Lil' Miss Siss Boutique are doing a fun contest for all those little girls ages new-6. Boys, you'll get your shot next in August. Here's the beef:

AMAZING!

Look at the line! And this is the end of it! We had an AMAZING turnout with around 1800 people in count.

Al and Zela Kormos, dear friends of Cam and Coralee. Al was recruited later on for a karaoke fundraiser. Good job AL!

Marty the Chef. The goggles apparantly help with smoke, something Marty picked up in his Yotee's days, thank goodness!

Tom the head chef, hence no goggles. Tom is a supervisor over at Extra Foods in Cardston and they donated 100% of the food for the BBQ. Thanks Tom and the crew!

After feeding around 1800, the tally was going up, contributing to a near $30,000 over all total. AMAZING!

Another AMAZING thing that the commitee pulled together was to have a live feed via camera. We could talk and see cam and vice versa. It was a tear jerker but we all loved seeing both Cam and Coralee and their faces during the festivities. Here is Marin Williams their daughter, thrilled to see Mom and Dad.

Benefit Dinner and Dance

Hey everyone. I just wanted to make sure everyone knows about the Cam and Coralee Williams benefit dinner and dance tonight. It is at 6:00pm at the Cardston High School Gym. Dinner is $3 a plate and all proceeds go to the Williams fam. There is also a famous country singer coming - and I apologize I can't remember his name - but he'll be there bringing down the house. For those of you who dont know these amazing people, they just so happen to be my next door neighbours whom we love. Cam is in Montreal right now getting geared up for a second bone marrow transplant as he is fighting lukemia or CML. They have 3 adorable children and both Cam and Coralee are school teachers in Cardston.

It seems like most of us know someone out there that has had or is fighting cancer and knows the toll it takes. If you'd like to make a difference than donations are so appreciated in so many ways including blood donors. Please consider doing something to help those people out who need it. As far as Silverline goes, anyone who books a portrait session before July 15th, the $100 sitting fee will be donated directly to Cam and Coralee. That means if you were already going to spend the money for a session this summer, you can now do so with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Williams family. What a great way to donate and still get your pictures!

For those of you who will be at the dinner tonight, come and see me as we will be trying to get as many pictures as possible of you all. They will be printed in a book and given to the Williams family. For updates on Cam at any time you can go to their blog at camcor.vox.com.

Back from the Dead

OK! I am back. After a major memory block that prevented me from logging in not to mention all the shoots, I left everyone blogless. Something I know no one has lost sleep over. None the less I am going to give this another shot.

Wedding season is in full kilter and it will be a great summer. Here is a few fun shots from May, a little late I know.

Better Later Than Never

Well I've arrived. I have finally succumbed to the blogs. I love reading and following blogs, but could not get myself to take the five minutes that it takes to get one going. But, after lots of requests, nagging, bullying, whatever you want to call it, I decided to get 'er done. So here we are!

Here at the headquarters of Silverline Photography, ( my home office at the moment that is more along the lines of a dungeon some days) we are in full wedding/grad/family/baby mode. You'd think that they'd have times of the year or something but people just seem to get married, want family pictures and have babies whenever they want! But, I am so glad they do... it keeps me busy and I love to be busy. As a result, I am updating the website. I am splitting it into two sites, one for weddings and the other of everything else. I think this will help with both my clients and me, as I am feeling claustrophobic on the current site. I took a ton of pictures off, feeling it just had too much. But, with the new sites I will be able to feature full shoots instead of posting only a few shots here and there. The info will also be a little better, clearer and updated.

Both sites will be edgy and trendy, but easier to navigate through as well. Here is a little sneak peak at one site. This is the "everything else" site, the wedding site will but much more sleek and sophisticated, if you will, and the images are huge. I love it. I love them both, and I cant wait. We will also be turning over our blog to a new fresh look ( sorry blogspot, this is very temporary). It may be June or July though until we are totally done, so keep checking, but not just yet.

Well, that's it for today kids, and you know, it wasn't so bad after all....
